‘Flexible burglar’ does yoga routine before swiping croissants from local bakery, video shows

A woman in Australia started her day with some morning yoga — in the parking lot of a bakery she allegedly burglarized minutes later.

The “flexible” bandit was filmed doing a yoga routine and stretching by the bakery’s surveillance camera immediately before she broke into the pastry shop at around 3 a.m. on March 3 and swiped some croissants, the business said in an Instagram post Monday.

“We were quite surprised when we saw the security footage from a recent break in at our Bakery HQ. Seems like yoga is a must before breaking in,” Phillippa’s Bakery wrote in a caption of the video.

“A few things were stolen including some croissants which were clearly too tempting for this flexible burglar.”

The bakery added a song from “Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol” soundtrack over the clip which shows the woman dressed in all black rolling around the parking lot doing leg and body stretches.

She kicks her legs up, lifts her arms in the air and rolls her shoulders as she lies on the ground in the comedic footage.

One commenter wondered if she was trying to get in a pre-emptive workout.

“Is this about working off the calories of the croissants before they steal them?” they wrote under the bakery’s post.

The burglar, a 44-year-old Richmond woman, snatched the buttery, flakey pastries along with a pair of shoes, an iPad and cleaning products from Phillippa’s location on North Street in Richmond, 9 News reported.

She was charged with theft, burglary and going equipped to steal and released on bail, according to the local outlet.
