At least five people were injured when fire broke out at a Brooklyn church where worshippers were gathered for Easter service Sunday, the FDNY said.
The four-alarm blaze was reported just before 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Rosary Pompeii Church in East Williamsburg, where about 50 fire companies rushed to put out the flames, Fire Department sources told The Post.
Five people were treated for minor injuries so far, officials said on X.
The FDNY shared images of the blaze, with dark smoke seen billowing out of the windows of the church and flames reaching its rooftop.
The New York City Emergency Management Department is urging people to avoid the area near Seigel Street and McKibbin Court.
This is a developing story.
