Chrissy Teigen is setting the record straight on her 2024 Met Gala absence.
After the cookbook author posted an Instagram Story selfie on Monday with a neck brace, joking that she was “@ the Met,” she called herself “so stupid” for sparking concern.
She explained, “This is not why I’m not at the Met. I was never going to the Met this year. Please. I’m so stupid for having made this a thing. I’m sorry.”
The “Chrissy’s Court” star, who hasn’t attended the ball since 2017, clarified that she is “fine” and “OK” after injuring herself.
“Everybody is reaching out,” Teigen, 38, said. “It’s just a CVS neck band, and I just can’t rotate my neck because I tried to do a headstand and it didn’t go well at all. There’s no story. I promise, that’s it.”
The “Bring the Funny” judge went on to document her evening in the kitchen, breaking up her cooking content to react to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”-themed red carpet.
Teigen has attended multiple Met Galas with her husband, John Legend, since her 2011 debut in a black Chris March dress.
The “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit” model’s last look was a sheer, feathery Marchesa gown in 2017.
The following year, the then-pregnant star missed the event to stay at home watching “Vanderpump Rules.”
“waiting for my turn on the carpet at #metgala!!!! always an honor!!!” she joked in a May 2018 Instagram post.
