Cam Bynum pays tribute to Olympic breakdancer Raygun with celebration: ‘Been saving’ it

Vikings cornerback Cam Bynum paid tribute to viral Olympic breakdancer Raygun during Minnesota’s win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Bynum made the clinching interception late in the fourth quarter as the Viking held off the Jags, 12-7, and the corner immediately broke out a celebration that paid homage to the moves the breakdancer made famous during her Olympic competition.

The Vikings defender had been keeping the celebration up his sleeve for the right moment, which apparently Sunday was.

“I’m a big fan. She went out there and had fun and that’s what I do on the field,” Bynum said, according to Fox Sports Australia. “I’ve been saving for that and it’s been a while since I did a celly.”

He added: “It’s been a few weeks [preparation]. I can clown like she did. It didn’t take too much effort.”

The interception came with 1:49 left in the game and was Bynum’s third of the season.

His fourth-quarter pick was the first one he’s had since Oct. 6 when the Vikings defeated the Jets while playing in London.

Raygun, whose real name is Rachel Gunn, announced last week that she was retiring from breakdancing following the controversy that ensued from her performance at the Olympics.

However, she made a surprise appearance over the weekend when Australian singer Tones and I brought Raygun onto the stage during the songstress’s show at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, News.com.au reported.

Raygun had been brought onstage by the singer, who announced, “Everybody, give it up for Australian Olympian, Raygun!”

The breakdancer then broke out her now-infamous moves on stage to the delight of the crowd that had been on hand for the concert.
