Boy, 14, shot on Staten Island, 13-year-old gunman sought: cops

A 14-year-old boy was shot on Staten Island Tuesday evening — and cops are looking for a 13-year-old gunman — as youth violence engulfs the city, authorities said.

The boy was blasted in the leg around 5:45 p.m. near a building on Broad Street near Gordon Street, part of NYCHA’s Stapleton Houses, police said.

He was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he was listed in stable condition.

A 13-year-old suspect, last seen wearing gray sweatpants, fled the scene and was still on the loose Wednesday.

The 14-year-old is the latest — and youngest — of five teens shot across the city since the weekend, authorities said.

A 16-year-old boy took a bullet to the left foot at East 176th Street and Webster Avenue in the Tremont section of the Bronx minutes before 8 p.m. Monday, cops said.

He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

It was unclear Wednesday whether any were formally charged.

Another 16-year-old boy was blasted in the leg around 12:15 a.m. Monday at Avenue D and Troy Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn, cops said.

The boy managed to run home and his mother called 911 before the teen was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities and sources said.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the right leg and buttocks at East 153rd Street and Third Avenue in the Melrose section of the Bronx around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

He was taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition, and no arrests have been made.

And on Saturday night, 17-year-old Xavier Navarez was fatally shot on Oak Terrace near Beekman Avenue, police said.

Navarez took multiple bullets to the back around 7:45 p.m. and was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was initially listed in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries.

James Walker, 33, who lives near the scene, was arrested in connection to the deadly violence and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.

The motive for the fatal shooting is under investigation.
