CNN will begin airing episodes of Real Time With Bill Maher starting later this month.
Variety reports that new episodes of Real Time will air on CNN Saturdays at 8pm, the day after they premiere on Max, starting Saturday, March 23.
“The addition of Real Time With Bill Maher to CNN’s weekend primetime lineup marks the start of a commitment and investment into topical entertainment programming that we’re bringing to the weekends,” said Amy Entelis, executive vice president of talent, original programming and creative development for CNN Worldwide, in a statement. “We’ve seen that audiences enjoy Bill’s perspective and approach to news and information, and we’re looking forward to the show now being on CNN.”
This isn’t the first time CNN has aired programs from other networks, especially under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella. The series will continue streaming on Max and airing live. The new move will put an end to CNN airing segments of Overtime, a post-show special Maher films with his weekly guests.
This move comes after Real Time With Bill Maher was recently renewed for two additional seasons, meaning Bill Maher will stay on HBO through 2026.
Regarding the season renewal, Maher said, “Two more years in the dream job of a lifetime, on the network so many dream of being on – I think that’s what we call a no-brainer.”
For now, you can catch new episodes of Real Time with Bill Maher on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on HBO.
All episodes are currently streaming on Max.
