Atlanta Falcons a near lock to land Bill Belichick: latest odds

The Atlanta Falcons have established themselves as the clear favorite for Bill Belichick’s services next season.

After reports emerged of a planned second interview between Atlanta and Belichick, the Falcons are now far and away the frontrunners (-300) to have the legendary coach on their sidelines during the 2024 NFL season.

Belichick already conducted an interview with Falcons team owner Arthur Blank on Monday night, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Here’s a look at the latest odds from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Bill Belichick next team odds

Team Odds
Atlanta Falcons -300
Any other NFL team +500
Not a head coach of an NFL team +600
Washington Commanders +1200
Los Angeles Chargers +1600
Tennessee Titans +2000
Carolina Panthers +4000
New York Jets +15000
New York Giants +15000

The odds shift also comes after the Dallas Cowboys committed to head coach Mike McCarthy following another disappointing early playoff exit.

Before owner Jerry Jones’ announcement, the Cowboys had been +340 to land Belichick, the second-best odds on the board at DraftKings.

The Eagles, another team who was upset during the wild-card round, are not on the board, but with questions surrounding head coach Nick Sirianni, they are the first that comes to mind in the Any Other NFL Team category (+500), which is the second-most likely scenario for Belichick.

There is also a shot Belichick takes a year off or more from the NFL. Belichick is +600 to not be a head coach of a team next season.

The Washington Commanders (+1200) and Los Angeles Chargers (+1600), who are the favorites to make Jim Harbaugh their next head coach, are the NFL teams with the second- and third-best chances to sign Belichick.

No other team has odds better than 25/1.

The Giants and Jets, who have voiced their dedication to Brian Daboll and Robert Saleh, respectively, are +15000, indicating that there’s still a sliver of a chance that they move on from their head coaches and pursue Belichick.

Belichick and the Patriots parted ways last week after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl victories.

New England finished 4-13 this season, ending Belichick’s historic run in Foxborough.
