Just weeks after hosting the Emmys, black-ish star Anthony Anderson announced he was briefly hospitalized after experiencing an accident on set of his new movie.
The actor still had his sense of humor in tact when he shared what happened on Instagram with a photo of him on a gurney.
He wrote, “I spent the night in the emergency room. Movie set fight gone wrong. Me against two goons and a chair! Guess who didn’t win! Who needs a stuntman? Me that’s who!
“I’m not as young as I used to be! CT scan and X-rays showed nothing fractured or broken in my back just a deep contusion,” he continued. “That chair will never be the same though! Bloodied and bowed but never broken!”
His black-ish co-star Tracee Ellis Ross replied in the comments, “You are not made of rubber. I’m so glad you are ok.”
He also shared a photo of the aforementioned chair and jokingly threatened it.
“This is the chair that whooped my a** last night!” he wrote in the caption. “Something about it is menacing! It sucker punched me in the kidneys and back with no mercy! When I got on set today it was grinning at me! Little does he know I got something for that a**! He gone learn today!”
Anderson was in Cape Town, South Africa filming G20, an upcoming action thriller from Amazon MGM Studios and MRC.
The film will feature an all-star cast including Viola Davis, Will Trent star Ramón Rodríguez, black-ish star Marsai Martin, The Boys actor Anthony Starr, and many, many more.
Davis will produce and star as American President Danielle Sutton, who must use her military experience to protect others when terrorists attempt to overtake the G20 summit.
G20 will be directed by The 33 director Patricia Riggen. A release date has not yet been announced.
