Amy Robach claims she didn’t get engagement ring from Andrew Shue

Amy Robach claimed her ex-husband Andrew Shue never put a ring on her finger when they became betrothed.

The former “GMA3” co-anchor recalled in Wednesday’s episode of the “Amy & T.J. Podcast” that her engagement ring from her first husband, Tim McIntosh, cost $3,000 before saying, “And I didn’t even really have one the second time.”

“My second one didn’t exist,” Robach, 51, added, referring to a bauble from the “Melrose Place” alum.

In hindsight, however, the former broadcast journalist called the lack of engagement ring a blessing in disguise, as the now-former couple finalized their divorce in 2023 following her highly publicized affair with co-host T.J. Holmes. They had been married for 13 years.

“I also think this is a cautionary tale because we do know that close to 50 percent of all marriages end in divorce,” Robach continued. “If you think you’ve got some valuable property in a ring, no matter how much you spent, wait ’til you have to try to sell that said ring. It is pennies to what you actually purchased.”

The reporter further explained that these “beautiful pieces of jewelry don’t appreciate” in value.

“In fact, it’s like buying a car,” she said. “The second you try to sell it after you’ve purchased it, it goes down significantly in value.” ajrobach/Instagram

Reps for Shue, 57, didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The value of belongings has been top of mind for Robach since her divorce, as she previously admitted on her and Holmes’ podcast that she had lost her “worldly possessions” in the split.

“You can lose your job, you can lose your reputation, you can lose friends and you can lose most of your worldly possessions and still be happy,” she shared in January, prompting some slight confusion from Holmes.

“You lost most of your ‘worldly possessions?’” Holmes, 46, questioned while chuckling.

“There was a lot of selling going on, a lot of giving away,” she explained.

Robach also appeared to shade Shue when she told Holmes that “you don’t really know someone until you divorce them.”

Ironically, Shue and Holmes’ ex-wife, Marilee Fiebig, are now dating.

“They are fully together and committed,” an insider told Page Six in March. “It’s a very healthy relationship.”
