‘Am I Racist?’ Becomes The Most Successful Launch In DailyWire+ History

Am I Racist?” has officially become the most successful release in DailyWire+ history, performing even better on its first day of streaming than previous hits including Matt Walsh’s 2022 documentary “What is a Woman?” and the comedy “Lady Ballers” in 2023.

The film’s success was celebrated by its star Matt Walsh, who wrote on X, “The streaming launch of ‘Am I Racist?’ on Daily Wire was the biggest launch in the history of our platform. This is after it had the best box office performance of any documentary in the past five years. Blown away by the support. Thank you.”

Even before it headed to the DailyWire+ streaming platform, “Am I Racist?” was a huge success as the company’s first theatrical release for an in-house production. It outperformed expectations at the box office, grossing more than $12 million and debuting in the top five films in the country on its opening weekend. “Am I Racist?” also became the top-grossing documentary of the decade.

The film featured Walsh going undercover in the world of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to expose the grift of the race hustlers profiting off people’s emotions through deception.

“Am I Racist?” has a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes with more than 2,500 verified reviews. Despite the overwhelming popularity of the movie, mainstream critics have largely ignored it.

Podcast host Joe Rogan said “Am I Racist?” was hilarious.

“Your movie is really funny. It’s really funny,” Rogan told Walsh during an interview last month. “By myself, laughing out loud hysterically today,” he went on. “I watched it in the sauna, I watched it in the gym. … It’s one of the best comedies I’ve seen in a long time because there’s so many moments in it that are so uncomfortable.”

On Monday, Walsh also announced that he had submitted the film to the Oscars.

“Excited to announce that we have officially submitted ‘Am I Racist’ for Academy Award consideration. I’ve told my team that there’s no reason to wait until we actually win or even get nominated to put it on the movie poster,” Walsh wrote on X.

The Oscar submission was also discussed by Donald Trump Jr. during a conversation on his “Triggered” podcast. “They actually have to put you up for an Academy Award,” Trump Jr. said, referencing how Walsh was able to keep a straight face while talking with the self-described DEI experts featured in the film.

“I’ve already written my Academy Award acceptance speech,” Walsh replied.
