Alec Baldwin was seen with his fly down during Saturday’s SNL goodbyes, seemingly forgetting to zip his pants in an embarrassing senior moment.
The 66-year-old Rust star experienced a wardrobe mishap during the traditional bow alongside host Charli XCX and the rest of the SNL cast.
As Baldwin applauded and waved to the audience, he appeared unaware that the fly of his pants was wide open—a detail that sharp-eyed fans quickly noticed. Social media buzzed with reactions, with many poking fun at the incident.
One user joked, “Hey @AlecBaldwin, learn how to zip your pants! #AlecBaldwin #SNL #zippergate.”
Another added, “Alec Baldwin’s fly being open during the sendoff was the funniest part of @nbcsnl tonight.” One comment took a more critical tone, saying, “Alec Baldwin standing on stage at the end of Saturday Night Live with his fly down. Anyone else catch that? He looked completely disheveled. Those charges must have taken a toll on the old man,” referencing Baldwin’s ongoing legal challenges related to Rust.
A different viewer wrote, “Alec Baldwin just showing up in the outro for SNL while clearly f**ked up and had his fly down, and he didn’t even do anything this whole show LMFAO what is going on #SNL.”
Despite the mishap, Baldwin made his mark earlier in the episode, debuting a new impression of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
He joined a high-profile cold open alongside James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, Dana Carvey as Joe Biden, and Sarah Sherman as Matt Gaetz.
Baldwin mocked Kennedy’s controversial persona in the sketch while parodying his appointment as the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
“Americans need someone to teach them how to be healthy, someone like me, a 70-year-old man with movie star looks and a worm in his brain,” Baldwin quipped, referencing Kennedy’s infamous claim about doctors finding a parasitic worm in his head.
While the impression drew laughs, it also sparked backlash, with critics arguing Baldwin’s appearance was poorly timed given his legal issues following the tragic shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust set.
“They actually brought that deadbeat Alec Baldwin back?? SNL just needs to call it quits already,” tweeted one viewer. Another remarked, “I don’t know who keeps wanting more Alec Baldwin on SNL, but it’s not me.” Baldwin also mocked Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism, imitating his unique voice, which is affected by spasmodic dysphonia.
Baldwin’s return to SNL comes months after the dismissal of manslaughter charges connected to the 2021 on-set death.
The incident occurred during a rehearsal for Rust when Baldwin was handling a prop gun that unexpectedly discharged, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Prosecutors dropped the charge after discovering critical evidence that could support Baldwin’s defense had not been disclosed.
