Aaron Judge on his home-run fashions, fragrance and gear

Aaron Judge is a slugger with style. Whether he’s in Yankees or Ralph Lauren pinstripes, the 6-foot-7 outfielder, team captain and five-time Major League Baseball All-Star looks like a winner. Of course, he’s got the best ‘fit coach: his chic wife of almost two-and-a-half years, Samantha Bracksieck

“I do like to shop, but honestly, my wife is the real shopper,” the 31-year-old power hitter told Alexa last week during his appearance at Macy’s Herald Square for Ralph Lauren’s new “Polo Est. 67” eau de toilette, which he reps. “She’s the one who finds a lot of the hidden gems, and she’s like, ‘This is going to fit you perfectly,’” added Judge, who smashed a record-setting 62 homers in 2022.

“It’s my favorite cap and I wear it every single day. I feel pretty blessed when I have it on. Being given a chance to put on that cap and actually represent the Yankees on the field and out in the community, it’s stuff you dream about as a kid. Any time I put on that hat, I just feel like I get to be a role model for a lot of kids. Even if it’s not baseball related, if it’s something that motivates them to do better in school or be better at home, that’s what truly matters to me. So anytime I put on that hat, I feel like I’ve got a responsibility.”

“It’s different than any fragrance I’ve ever tried. It’s fresh, it’s woody, citrusy. It’s not overpowering. It makes me feel good, and my wife loves it. That’s the most important thing. My teammates keep asking me for it, even since they saw the campaign. They’re like, ‘Man, you’ve got to hook it up, let’s go!’ We’re working on it!”

“One thing that’s tough for me, being 6-foot-7, with that height, is finding something that actually fits the right way. But that’s where for me, Ralph Lauren is so great because it’s fashion and athletics mixed together. It has more of an athletic fit – a little tighter in the arms, looser in the chest. It’s just things that I look for, and I know a lot of my buddies on the team are always like, ‘I can’t find the right shirt.’ Every shirt I get here, it just fits athletes perfectly. I think it fits anybody perfectly.”

“I’m a jersey guy. When I’m at home, I like wearing different basketball jerseys, soccer jerseys, football jerseys. When I’m lounging around the house, it’s Jordan shorts and a jersey.”

“These are a good fit. I can relax in the car, I can sit here comfortably and walk around the mall. I think that’s the biggest thing for me, is just being comfortable. I can move around in them and they look good and feel good.”

“I do love wearing suits. Ralph Lauren decked me out in a couple of great suits. For my All Rise Foundation dinner in January, they hooked me up with a nice navy-and-white pinstripe suit, double breasted, and it was pretty special.”

“This actually was a gift from my teammates. It’s a Rolex Daytona Eye of the Tiger. They got it for me for [my home-run] record in baseball, and they made it a team thing. Any big moments I have, when I signed back with the Yankees or doing a fun event like this, I always like to wear it. I want my teammates to know if they ever see it, like, ‘Hey, you guys are here with me during this moment.’ I always try to wear it for any big moment.”

“Anything Jordans: Jordan 1s, Jordan 11s. Growing up, being an athlete, you always wanted Jordans. Sometimes I used to go for the more out-of-control colors, but my wife has helped pull me back to the neutrals. Anything that makes the outfit work, you know I’m going with that.”

“Some sunscreens you put it on, and it kind of leaves a little residue. This one is always smooth, clean. In baseball we’re outside all the time and we’re in the sun, and this is a good go-to.”

“It depends on the game. I love “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins. If I need a slow buildup to kind of get me excited, that’s kind of the one to go to. On more of the hip-hop side, there’s “Hello” by Pop Smoke, he’s a New York artist. If I need to really get hyped up, I go that route.”
