Houthi Terrorists Launch Attacks Against U.S. Warships

The Houthi terrorist organization announced on Tuesday that it launched attacks against U.S. warships that were transiting the Bab el Mandeb strait.

Pentagon press secretary Air Force Major Gen Pat Ryder told reporters during a press conference that “the Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer, USS Stockdale and USS Spruance were attacked by at least eight one-way attack uncrewed Aerial systems, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles which were successfully engaged and defeated.”

There was no damage to the ships and no personnel were hurt, he said.

The attacks from the Houthis came after U.S. forces conducted several precision airstrikes against facilities used by the Iranian-backed terrorist group in Yemen over the weekend.

“These facilities housed a variety of advanced conventional weapons used by the Iran backed Houthis to target U.S. and international military and civilian vessels navigating international waters in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden,” Ryder said. “The operation involved US Air Force and US Navy assets to include F-35C fighter aircraft.”

The Houthis claimed in a statement that they targeted the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier with cruise missiles and drones and claimed that the attack was successful, even though there was zero evidence supporting its claims.

The terrorist group also claimed that it successfully attacked the two destroyers despite there again being no proof to support its claims.
