GOP candidate Lily Tang Williams fired insults at Democratic rival during heated debate in NH congressional race

A GOP candidate in a New Hampshire congressional race slammed her Democratic rival as an out of touch multimillionaire after her opponent claimed she only cares about the rich.

Republican Lily Tang Williams – also a millionaire – argued her opponent Maggie Goodlander doesn’t understand “regular people’s suffering” as she pointed out the Dem is worth at least $20 million during a heated debate Thursday night.

“You are wealthy. You are worth $20 million to $30 million. How do you know about regular people suffering?” Tang Williams argued.

“Do you go shopping? Go to Walmart? Buy food? I talk to those people. And you pretend to be a renter in Nashua a few months ago, move back to run for this open seat with millions of dollars from Washington, D.C., insiders. … I don’t have money to run a TV ad, and you pretend you are poor, complain that rent is so high. You do not understand regular people’s concerns.”

Goodlander, an ex-Biden Justice Department official, has previously criticized the rent in her state as being “too damn high” – while simultaneously holding millions of dollars in dozens of real estate assets, including a Florida golf course and a Granite State casino.

The Democrat, who is also married to national security adviser Jake Sullivan, has campaigned around the sentiment that housing is top of mind for her prospective constituents.

But housing isn’t an issue for Goodlander, who recorded between $6 million and $30 million in trust funds with extensive real estate holdings, according to her husband’s 2024 federal financial disclosures, obtained by The Post.

Tang Williams also lives a comfortable lifestyle – worth between $3.8 million and $8.6 million, Fox News reported, while sharing on the campaign that she only had $100 in her pocket when she arrived in the US from China.
