The body of a missing Georgia mother and TikTokker was found near the Walmart where she was last seen a week ago, as police arrested a man in connection to her alleged abduction and murder.
Minelys Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez, 25, was last seen at the Walmart in Cornelia, Ga., on Oct. 22, 2024, with her last known text being sent at around 9:30 p.m., according to the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.
“I am waiting for the brother to pick him up,” the message — sent to her fiancé Julio Tovor — read, Now Habersham News reported.
“It didn’t make sense. She doesn’t talk like that,” Tovor told the outlet.
Tovor said his fiancée had gone to Walmart to exchange a photo with an acquaintance, according to the outlet.
Rodriguez-Ramirez, a mother of a 9-year-old daughter, moved to the US from Puerto Rico six years ago after being offered a job from nearby manufacturer Mt. Vernon Hills, Inc.
The loving mother was separated from her daughter, who moved back to Puerto Rico to live with her dad.
“Minelys talked about her daughter a lot. She treasured her daughter,” Tovor said.
When he awoke the next morning without any word from her, Tovor said he felt something was wrong and called Rodriguez-Ramirez’s mother.
The family reported her missing on Oct. 23.
Ramirez, who posted a variety of Spanish-speaking videos to TikTok, had unique tattoos covering her body, which were pointed out in a “BOLO” alert issued by the sheriff’s office.
Her car was located five miles down the road on Hazel Creek Road, with witnesses nearby saying they saw a dark SUV and a gold mini-van near Rodriguez-Ramirez that night, Now Haversham News reported.
Remains believed to be of Ramirez were recovered in a “remote area” by the sheriff’s department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, according to law enforcement and Fox 5 Atlanta.
Officials did not reveal where Ramirez’s body was recovered, but Habersham County Coroner Kelsey McEntire said the remains were found on Furniture Drive, 11 Alive reported.
The road runs parallel with the Walmart parking lot, located approximately 50 miles north of Athens, Ga.
Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanches, 24, was arrested in Atlanta on Monday and charged with kidnapping related to Ramirez’s disappearance.
He was booked into the Habersham County Detention Center but will be charged with murder in connection with Ramirez’s death.
An autopsy is being conducted on the remains as no cause of death or motive had been revealed in Ramirez’s suspected murder,
