Johnny Knoxville Sued By Former ‘Prank Panel’ Producer For Being Tased

Johnny Knoxville has been hit with a $3M suit by a former Prank Panel producer who claims he was tased by Knoxville in 2022 while on the ABC show.

Daniel Curry, a former employee of the show and Eric Andre‘s writing partner, is suing Knoxville for negligence and battery according to EW.

The complaint, which was filed on Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleges that Curry was working as a segment producer on Prank Panel when Knoxville allegedly “chased down and tased” him, and did so “without provocation.”

Curry claims that the incident caused him to experience “freezing, losing all motor skills, and collapsing with his entire body in a rigid and tense state,” and that he ultimately broke his fibula and tore a ligament in his ankle.

It adds that following the incident, Knoxville, ABC Signature, and Jimmy Kimmel‘s production company Kimmelot, “collectively acted to ‘blacklist’” Curry on the production, which did damage to his career.

Curry’s lawsuit claims that at least 25 people witnessed the incident, which resulted in him having to use crutches and a scooter for two and a half months. It says he also wore an ankle brace for another two and a half months, then underwent six months of physical therapy.

“This attack was unprompted, surprising, and inherently dangerous,” the complaint says. “There was no plan for [Curry] to appear on camera and at no time was [he] an active participant in any scenes. Rather, [Curry] was an unsuspecting member of production who fell victim to Johnny Knoxville’s inexplicable and inherently dangerous behavior.”

The lawsuit later implies that Curry was pressured to keep the incident quiet after receiving intimidating text messages from Knoxville.

Curry is seeking $1.75 million for loss of earnings, including future loss of earnings; $950,000 for compensatory and general damages; and $300,000 for special and incidental damages.

This is at least the second lawsuit that Knoxville has secured from his time on The Prank Panel, the first being from a handyman named Khalil Khan who detailed a “terrifying ordeal” during the show’s production.

Andre, who co-hosted the show with Knoxville and Gabourey Sidibe, also said he was tased by Knoxville during the show’s production and almost quit the show because of it.
