The Rangers looked headed for a Game 7.
And then Chris Kreider happened.
The Rangers forward notched a natural hat trick in the third period to lead the Rangers to a 5-3 comeback win in Game 6 over the Hurricanes, sending New York to the Eastern Conference Final.
After having 28 come-from-behind wins in the regular season, an NHL high, the Rangers did it again in the third period, thanks to Kreider’s heroics.
Igor Shesterkin’s save with 2:39 left in the third and the Carolina net empty was a huge part in sealing the series clincher.
