The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will hear testimony Wednesday morning from federal officials investigating the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
The March 25 incident, when cargo ship “Dali” lost power and collided with the bridge, claimed six lives and left one of the country’s most important harbors strewn with wreckage.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released preliminary findings about the disaster Tuesday, reporting that the ship had suffered two blackouts as it drew close to the bridge.
NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Administrator Shailen Bhatt are slated to appear before the committee.
The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. EDT.
