Certified chic, seven days a week.
Cardi B made a grand entrance at the Met Gala 2024 red carpet on Monday, wearing a show-stopping strapless black gown with a massive tulle train that practically enveloped the steps of the museum.
The “WAP” hitmaker, 31, brought her signature bold style to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual fundraiser, completing her larger-than-life look with equally show-stopping emerald jewelry and matching green nails.
The look took a team to arrange on the carpet, as at least nine men were seen carrying the tulle train while she prepared to pose for photos.
The star seemingly teased her look for this year’s gala, which is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”-themed, on her Instagram Stories earlier in the night with a snap of a single black rose.
Last year, Cardi B paid tribute to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld — whom the 2023 Met Gala honored as the motif of the night — by wearing a black-and-white collared ballgown by Chenpeng Studio and adding Lagerfeld’s signature black tie to her ensemble.
And in 2022, she took the “gilded glamour” dress code to a new level in a curve-hugging Versace dress crafted from a mile of gold chains.
But one of her most memorable Met moments came in 2019 when the “Bodak Yellow” singer stepped out in a showgirl-style Thom Browne dress featuring feathers, a massive train and $250,000 ruby nipples.
Even Anna Wintour was impressed, revealing in Vogue’s “Go Ask Anna” series that when Cardi walked the red carpet that “people parted like the queen coming through because she looked so fantastic.”
“I had not seen her look as chic or as original beforehand,” the Vogue legend shared, adding, “I completely rethought my opinion of Cardi B’s style. She rocks.”
With her latest show-stopping style, the rapper’s sure to part plenty of crowds again.
