Scottie Scheffler captured the 2024 Masters crown Sunday at Augusta National, marking his second title in the tournament and his second career major championship.
The world No. 1 had started the day in the lead, but found himself in a four-way tie with Max Homa, Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Åberg before regaining sole possession of the lead after nearly shooting for eagle on the par-4 ninth hole.
It’s the latest achievement in a successful 2024 for Scheffler, who has already been crowned champion at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and won The Players Championship last month.
Scheffler revealed before Sunday’s final round that he and his wife, Meredith, had a plan in place in case she had gone into labor since there had been the chance that she could have gone into labor before he teed off.
