NHL star Boone Jenner and his wife, Maggie, are mourning the death of their baby boy one month before his due date.
The couple announced in a joint statement on Instagram Wednesday that their unborn son, Dawson, was stillborn on Sunday, March 31.
“We are at a loss for words. A pain like no other,” the pair wrote alongside a concrete cast of their baby’s feet.
“While this pain is like nothing we’ve experienced before, it’s also shown us the immense love we have to give.”
The Columbus Blue Jackets forward, 30, and his wife that while they’re heartbroken, they are also “incredibly grateful” to be Dawson’s parents and “look forward to holding him again one day in heaven.”

Boone and Maggie ended their statement thanking those closest to them for their “outpouring of love and support” but asked for privacy as they navigate this “extremely difficult time.”
The pair announced in December they were expecting a “lil babe” in May 2024, sharing photos of Maggie’s sonogram and baby bump.
Boone and Maggie went public with their relationship in May 2020 when she posted several Instagram photos with the athlete during the pandemic shut downs.
“My quarantine scene 🤍,” she captioned the snaps from her beachfront house.
They got engaged in September 2022 and tied the knot in July 2023 before honeymooning in Italy.
Maggie supported Boone in-person while he played in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto in February, and then they jetted off to a tropical locale for a babymoon.
