Social media star who filmed himself driving 107 mph charged for reckless driving

A 20-year-old Seattle speedster has been charged for recklessly driving through the city and posting the videos on social media following months of complaints from local residents.

Miles Oliver Hudson has made a career out of the clips, which he posts regularly for his nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram.

In one video posted in February, Hudson reaches speeds of 107 mph flying down 4th Avenue in the city, according to police.

Hudson’s constant speeding and engine revving was so irritating and dangerous that it spawned a Reddit thread exclusively dedicated to citizens’ complaints about his driving, according to a police report obtained by KOMO News

Police were able to identify his vehicle from the posts, which showed “the same vinyl wrap in the same color, with the same widebody kit, and the same tiger stripe/hellcat logos,” on Hudson’s car, the report states.

Hudson was pulled over for speeding near Fourth Ave and Yesler Street and actually told the officer he doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon.

“I asked Hudson why he didn’t just go to a racetrack to utilize his vehicle there. He stated that he had ‘almost 700,000 followers’ on his social media, and that the amount of money he makes on filming his videos of him in his vehicle on the street has paid for the car,” police wrote in the report.

Hudson told the cop “‘’I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing. I’m going to make a career out of this,’” and showed him his Instagram, police said.

In a Feb. 24th referenced by police in their report, Hudson films himself getting inside his Dodge Charger in a parking garage and driving out into the street where he meets up with two other drivers and they agree to race.

“One, two, three!” he yells and floors the gas pedal, filming the dashboard as the speedometer hits triple digits.

Other videos on his page show Hudson street racing, revving his incredibly loud engine and blasting music.

Police said they constantly receive complaints about the noise from Hudson’s vehicle exhaust as he drives around Seattle, often in the middle of the night.

Hudson is charged with two misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, among several other traffic infractions in Seattle. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Seattle Municipal Court on April 9, KOMO News reported.
