Rebel has risen.
Rebel Wilson officially named Sacha Baron Cohen as the Hollywood star who is allegedly trying to “threaten” her over her upcoming memoir, “Rebel Rising.”
In an Instagram Story on Monday, the “Pitch Perfect” actress posted a picture of a binder and a purple pen while declaring, “I will not be bullied or silenced with high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers.” before dropping the bombshell.
“The ‘a—hole’ that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is Sasha Baron Cohen,” she continued.
The Post reached out to Cohen, 52, for comment.
Several social media users were quick to respond to the allegations.
“Oh, you mean Sacha Baron Cohen, the guy who made a career out of being an ‘a—hole’ to people for comedic effect,” one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote. “How shocking that he would allegedly threaten legal action against Rebel Wilson for daring to write about her experience working with him.”
“I mean, it’s not like celebrities have a history of using their power and influence to silence people who speak out against them or anything,” they went on. “And it’s certainly not like there’s a huge double standard in Hollywood when it comes to how male and female actors are treated.”
“Sacha Baron Cohen has always been a weirdo,” a second user pointed out.
“Seeing Rebel Wilson reveal that Sacha Baron Cohen is the a-hole she wrote about in her book like its a big deal but I’m honestly not even surprised,” a third person laughed.
One diligent social media user pointed out that this was not the first time that Wilson, 44, had spoken out against the “Borat” star.
“Rebel Wilson has been extremely consistent over the past decade in talking about what she experienced with Sacha Baron Cohen,” they wrote along with a couple of screenshots of Wilson previously slamming the actor.
She and Cohen worked together in 2016’s “The Brothers Grimsby,” with Wilson once calling Cohen “outrageous” during the “Kyle and Jackie O” radio show.
Wilson’s post comes days after she alleged Cohen hired a crisis PR firm and lawyers to hinder her book sales when she told the “Les Miserables” star that she planned to dedicate a whole chapter to him.
“Now the a–hole is trying to threaten me,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram Story. “He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He’s trying to stop press coming out about my new book.”
Despite the feud, the “Senior Year” star proclaimed that “the book WILL come out and you will all know the truth.”
“Rebel Rising” is currently set to hit bookshelves on April 2.
In an Instagram promo for her book earlier this month, the “Cats” star revealed that the experience made her adopt a “no a-holes” policy when taking jobs in the US.
“When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, ‘Yeah, I have a no-a**holes policy that means, like, I don’t work with a**holes’. I was like, ‘Yeah, I mean, that sounds sensible and logical,’” she said in the video.
“But then it really sunk in what they were meaning by that, older people in the industry. Because I worked with a massive a–hole, and, yeah, now I definitely have a a–holes policy,” she continued. “Chapter on said a–hole – it is chapter 23, that guy was a massive a–hole.”
According to Wilson, her highly-anticipated memoir covers “everything” about her life ranging from her teenage years, to becoming famous, and her “relationship with food.”
