Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were completely oblivious to Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis until it hit headlines across the globe, sources told The Post.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly blindsided, learning of Middleton’s health struggle on the very day the tragic news broke to the world.
“They had no idea, and only learned of the news around the same time the rest of the world found out,” an insider disclosed.
“This goes to show the irreparable damage they have caused,” the source said.
“The trust has been broken and the royal family is OK distancing themselves from them.”
Reps for the couple did not return The Post’s request for comment.
However, the exiled royals did issue a brief message of support following Middleton’s announcement.
“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement Friday.
The timing of this bombshell comes amidst Prince Harry’s recent visit to London in early February, where he briefly reunited with his father, King Charles III, following news of the monarch’s own cancer battle.
King Charles III had disclosed his diagnosis while undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate back in January, setting off alarms within the royal circle.
Prince Harry’s fleeting visit, lasting a mere 45 minutes, to Clarence House, marked a poignant yet fleeting moment in the midst of familial turmoil.
Middleton publicly revealed that she had undergone abdominal surgery at The London Clinic, the largest independent private hospital in the UK around the same time. But it was only on Friday that the 42-year-old mom of three disclosed her cancer diagnosis to the world, following intense speculation.
“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” a visibly gaunt Kate said in a heart-wrenching videotaped statement.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery,” she said in the video message filmed by BBC Studios.
