Two people were killed and three others injured after a BMW collided with a Nissan Rogue and then slammed into an elevated subway pillar in the Bronx Saturday, police said.
The deadly crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. underneath the 4 train station at Jerome Avenue and East Fordham Road in University Heights, cops said.
The BMW was traveling northbound on Jerome Avenue when it collided with a Nissan Rogue heading eastbound on Fordham Road and crashed into the column, cops said.
“The BMW then struck the elevated train pillar,” an NYPD spokesman said.
EMS transported the 23-year-old male driver and a male passenger in his 20s to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.
Three women in the Nissan — the driver and two passengers — were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, cops said.
The NYPD is investigating if speed may have played a role in the deadly crash.
