$1.5K bet insurance or 20 percent deposit match in 18 states, $150 for NC

One of American’s biggest sports betting brands, BetMGM, has two unique offers for new players across the country. When you sign up with the BetMGM bonus codes NYPNEWS or NYPNEWS1600, you’ll either get a $1.5K bet insurance offer or a 20 percent deposit match with a $1,600 cap, respectively.

The former is a fairly standard promotional structure. You’ll get whatever cash stake you put down back as bonus bets if your initial wager loses, up to $1,500. Since it’s a bet insurance promotion, you’ll only earn if your initial wager loses.

The latter promotion is structured a bit differently. It’s a fractional deposit match, so you’ll get 20 percent of whatever cash stake you put down, up to $1,600. Thus, to max out with this offer, you’d need to put down $8K in cash. Additionally, that offer has a 10x wager requirement so you’ll need to bet 10 times whatever sports bonuses you earn within the first 30 days of registering your account.

Say you deposited $4,500 in cash. You’d get $900 (4500 x 0.2) as sports bonuses credited to your account. From that point, you’d have 30 days to wager $9,000 in total.

Both these offers are now available in 18 states total (AZ, CO, IL, IN, IA, LA, KS, KY, MA, MD, MI, NJ, OH, PA, TN, VA, WV, WY).

BetMGM in North Carolina

To coincide with the online sports betting launch in North Carolina, BetMGM has an exclusive offer in the Tar Heel State. Make a $10 cash deposit to register your account and place a cash bet of $5 to get $150 in bonus bets shortly after that wager settles.

This offer is only for new customers who are present in a legal sports betting state and are 21 or older.

How to use the BetMGM offer

There’s no shortage of options to choose from this weekend as the Men’s NCAA Final Four kicks off Saturday, the NBA has a solid four game slate, the NHL has a dozen games and baseball is back.

With that in mind, we’ve highlighted some of the different ways you can put these BetMGM bonus code offers to work.

Say you’re claiming the bet insurance offer and you’re eyeing a Final Four matchup. NC State has been hot and you’re eyeing them for an upset. You put down $430 in cash on the Wolfpack moneyline at +345. If NC State wins, you’ll collect $1,483.50 in profit.

Even if NC State fails to pull off the upset, you’ll get the $430 as bonus bets when your wager settles. Any bonus bets you earn can be used for any additional wager on the platform but cannot be withdrawn or cashed out until they are bet.

On the other hand, if you claimed the deposit match and put down $400 in cash, you’d get $80 as sports bonuses credited to your account. If you’re looking at the Chicago Blackhawks moneyline from there, you could put down that full $80 as sports bonuses on the moneyline.

Naturally, if you win, you’d collect the profit but wouldn’t keep the stake. That said, it’s not a cash wager so you’d only forfeit the sports bonuses. As noted above, you need to bet 10 times the amount of sports bonuses you win within your first 30 days. In this case, you’d have to bet $800 over 30 days.
